Echoing a deep dedication to streamlining creative excellence, Alkemy X continues to focus on technical evolution with several key hires in its pipeline department. Fabia Serra Arrizabalaga has been brought on as a senior pipeline technical director and Jean-Francois Beaulieu as pipeline technical director, both working to optimize internal processes and embrace new technologies to partner with clients to create state-of-the-art visual effects.

Barcelona native Arrizabalaga brings nearly a decade of experience in visual effects, working across some of the industry’s most esteemed shops. With a consistent eye towards innovation, his background includes a multitude of software development roles that focus on creating and optimizing processes and systems that allow the team to continue to elevate artistry, while meeting increased technical and timeline demands for clients. He holds a double degree in Computer Science and Audiovisual Systems Engineering from Universidad Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona.

Beaulieu wasted no time climbing the ranks in VFX after graduating from Full Sail University with a Bachelor of Computer Animation, first as Compositor for Platinum Platypus, then Compositor and Editorial Pipeline TD for Powerhouse VFX. He has worked on numerous episodic and feature film projects including Old, Late Night, “Umbrella Academy,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “Stranger Things” and “Fear The Walking Dead.”  Beaulieu’s expertise will merge seamlessly with Alkemy X’s bolstered pipeline and VFX department across all of the company’s wide-ranging entertainment properties.

Notes Alkemy X president and CEO Justin Wineburgh: “People are our most important asset at Alkemy X.  Investing in a team that not only works to constantly optimize our approach to technology, but also looks toward creating processes that elevate creativity, is a top priority for us. Our technical pipeline is the foundation of our partnerships with and commitment to our VFX clients, and we are thrilled to bring on such talented individuals like Fabia and Jean-Francois to lead the charge of innovation.”

This growth of the Pipeline team signifies a further investment in the company’s innovation at the intersection of technology and art. Alkemy X executive creative director Jep Hill continues to lead this initiative, with a focus on expansion and optimization to continue to refine the VFX department’s nimble approach to working on projects of all scopes and sizes.
